Frequently asked questions

Clear answers for people looking for a stay, and for landlords who run hostels, PGs, or buildings on Kyasti.

For tenants

Booking, KYC, rent, and life after you move in.

Is booking on Kyasti brokerage-free?

Yes. You browse PG, hostel, and room listings, see rent and deposit up front, and book online without a broker fee from Kyasti. What you pay is the property’s rent, deposit, and any charges shown at booking.

What do rent and deposit include?

Each listing shows the rent for the billing period and the security deposit before you confirm. Some stays include electricity in rent; others bill meters separately — that is shown on the booking. Extra charges (if any) appear in your payment summary.

How does DigiLocker KYC work?

After you book, you complete KYC in the tenant portal using DigiLocker so your identity is verified digitally. Your property team can see verification status — you do not need to carry paper ID copies for every step.

When is police verification required?

Only when your city has an active police form on Kyasti and the property has police verification turned on for your booking. If it is required, you fill the form in the Verify tab before check-in. If it is not required for your stay, that section does not appear.

How do I pay rent online?

Confirmed stays show upcoming dues in your bookings and payments screens. You can pay with UPI and other online methods supported on Kyasti. You also get reminders before rent is due so you are not chasing cash receipts.

Can I add roommates or family to my stay?

Yes, when the space policy allows your household type. From your booking you can invite co-occupants; they join with their own KYC where required. Bed and room rules (gender, max people) still apply to the listing.

How do tickets and move-out notice work?

Raise maintenance or stay issues as tickets in the portal — your property’s team resolves them on Kyasti. When you need to leave, start a termination request; notice days follow the property’s booking rules (often shown on your booking).

For landlords & managers

Property software, compliance, collections, and leasing to Kyasti.

What does Kyasti software cover?

One dashboard for portfolio inventory (buildings, units, rooms, beds), visits and leads, bookings, DigiLocker KYC, police verification where applicable, UPI rent collection, meter readings, vendors, staff roles, and stay tickets — so day-to-day rental ops stay in one place.

Who is Kyasti for?

Building owners, hostel and PG landlords, and societies that need clear occupancy, KYC, and collections. Whether you run a few beds or multiple buildings, the same product scales with staff roles so managers can work without sharing your owner login.

How do tenants complete KYC?

Tenants verify through DigiLocker in the tenant portal after booking. You see status on each stay — digital identity on file instead of chasing photocopies. That keeps move-in compliance consistent across your portfolio.

How does police verification work?

When a city has an active police form template, new bookings can require it by default. You can turn the requirement off for the business or for a single booking so check-in is not blocked when a form is not needed. Cities without a template never ask for police details.

How do UPI collections and rent cycles work?

Tenants pay online with UPI; you track dues and receipts in the dashboard with automatic reminders. Rent cycles follow your booking settings (for example check-in anniversary or aligned calendar dues) so each stay bills consistently.

Should I use the software or lease my property to Kyasti?

Use Kyasti software when you want to keep operating the property yourself with modern tools. Lease to Kyasti when you prefer we fill beds, run stay ops, and handle day-to-day management under commercial terms you agree with us. Many owners start with a demo to compare both paths.

How do I request a demo?

Open the For landlords page and submit the short form (software, lease, or both), or email and call us from Contact. Tell us your city and approximate beds or units — we will follow up to schedule a conversation. No spam; we only use the details to reach you.

Still need help?

Email or call us — or book a demo if you manage property.
